Made for quilters! Essential accessories and notions to simplify difficult quilting tasks.
The Essential Quilting Tool Kit consists of:
Open AppliqueFoot 6 mm
Perfect for applique and other stitching that needs a wide view where the needle fits into the fabric. With this presser foot you can achieve beautiful appliqués quickly and easily. For a hand-stitching effect you can select a shell stitch.
Use
- Cut pieces without seam allowance. If the fabric frays help yourself with a template iron the edge facing down.
- On the design iron a stabilizer with the back side of paper. Remove the paper layer and iron the fabric to be appliquéd onto the backing fabric.
- Snap on the open applique foot and engage the IDTTM (if available on your sewing machine).
- Select a stitch and guide the edge of the design to be appliquéd along the inside edge on the right side of the presser foot to achieve a smooth seam along the edge (use the mirror image function if necessary). This operation hides the straight stitch in the seam to achieve a hand-stitching effect.

The Multi-Line Decorative Foot is designed to help you create parallel lines of decorative stitches that are equidistant. The clear view through the presser foot gives you greater visibility and helps you precisely align rows of stitches.
Use the vertical guide lines to evenly space rows and the horizontal guide lines to match your starting stitches and turn corners in 6mm or 12mm intervals.
The Multi-Line Decorative Foot can also be used as a guide when sewing maxi stitches.
Using the multi-line decorative foot:
Decorative hems:
- Disengage the IDT system.
- Insert the multi-line decorative foot.
- Select a decorative stitch.
- Draw a line on the fabric in the center of the area where the stitching will be done.
- Place the Tear-Away stabilizer under the fabric.
- Arrange the fabric under the presser foot, align the center red mark on it with the line on the fabric. Sew the first row of decorative stitches.
- Choose another decorative stitch or continue with the same stitch.
- Move the fabric to the left.
- Decide on the distance between the rows.
- Use the red horizontal line to match the beginning of each row.
- Sew the new line of stitches using the red line on the presser foot as a guide.
- Move the fabric and sew another line of decorative stitches to the left of the center.
- Continue with more stitches to create a wider border.
- Remove the stabilizer.
Maxi stitches:
- Disengage the IDT system.
- Insert the multi-line decorative presser foot.
- Select a maxi stitch.
- To ensure a straight seam line, draw a line on the fabric at the point in the center of the seam. Continue tracing one or two lines on each side of the traced line.
- Insert the Tear-Away stabilizer under the fabric.
- Sew carefully, letting the machine control the feed.
- Keep the traced lines and vertical red lines on the same side of the presser foot parallel with each other. Remove the stabilizer.
Usage:
- Set the machine for straight stitch with the needle in the leftmost position possible.
- Place the fabric to be curled under the presser foot with the raw edge sticking out slightly to the right of the presser foot. Insert the fabric, which should remain flat completely in the presser foot slot. The fabrics should be right sides together.
- Guide the fabric allowing the sewing machine to freely pull the fabric underneath to make the gathering even.
Tip: Changing the stitch length changes the volume of the gathering. You can also curl a single layer of fabric by placing it under the presser foot by adjusting the stitch length and tension to achieve the desired curl volume.
