The drawstring foot is perfect for inserting pre-made profiles into seams and edges with sartorial quality. The presser foot also makes it easy to cover cords with fabric and insert piping into the seams for a professional result.

• Set the sewing machine for overcasting to the desired stitch.
• Clip the presser foot.

To sew the profile into a seam:

• Place the profile along the seam line on the right side of the fabric. Add the second piece of fabric, right sides against the right sides of the previous fabric.
• Place the layers of fabric and the profile under the profiling foot with the profile in the groove that is located on the underside of the foot.
• Sew the profile into the seam.
• The groove on the underside of the presser foot will guide the profile when sewing.

To cover the profile with fabric:

• Cut strips of fabric on the bias, or crosswise from the grain, wide enough to cover the drawstring, plus the seam allowance.
• Lay the cord on the wrong side of the fabric strip and wrap it with the fabric.
• Place the drawstring and fabric under the piping foot with the drawstring in the groove on the underside of the presser foot.
• Sew. The groove will guide the drawstring when sewing.
