Pfaff 620117996 Gathering foot

This foot is perfect for gathering a single layer of fabric or for gathering and sewing two layers of fabric at the same time (the base fabric is gathered, while the top fabric remains smooth). Suitable for medium or light weight non-elastic fabrics.

• Prepare the serger for the desired stitch.
• Insert the gathering foot.
• Insert the base fabric (the fabric to be gathered), right side up, between the needle plate and the gathering foot until it reaches the knife.
• Insert the top fabric, right side down, into the opening of the presser foot to gather and align it with the base fabric.
• Lower the presser foot all the way down and sew. Feed the fabric along the guide, allowing the fabric underneath to gather freely.

• Increases thread tension in the needle
• Adjust the differential transport to a higher number
• Adjust the stitch length to a higher number
• You can also gather a single layer of fabric by inserting it under the presser foot and adjusting the stitch length, differential feed and thread tension in the needle according to the type of gathering you want to make
