The gland pin joint is necessary when the separately available cloth gland foot needs to be secured after removing the gland foot support. (One knurled head screw included.)
With the jaws lowered, you can freely move the fabric to draw using seams. Use the screw to adjust the height of the gland foot according to the thickness of the fabric, so that the fabric moves smoothly.
