1. Sew a few stitches to mark the pattern. Do not pull. Reduce the tension slightly.
Open/ladder stitches:
- Join the right side of two pieces of fabric.
- Pull the fabric until the open stitch created by the thread loops appears.
- Open the margins by ironing and sewing if desired.
Decorative eyelets or fringes:
- Sew the desired design with the tracing foot.
- Press the eyelets to one side with your fingers and sew along the base of the straight-stitch eyelets to secure them.
(To make fringes, cut the eyelets in the middle.)
