The foot allows you to make pleats or gathers on thin or medium-thick fabrics.

Adjusting the pleating foot:

• Remove the stand/stem.
  
  
• Replace the needle retaining screw with the longer screw supplied with the pleating presser foot.
  
  
• Place the pleating foot on the machine holder/shank with the fork over the needle retaining screw.
  Attach the pleating foot to the shank with the accessory thumbscrew.
  
  
• Set the straight stitch.
  
  
• Reduce presser foot pressure as needed.
  
  
• The adjustment lever (J) adjusts the number of folds made by the pleating foot.
  Set it to 1 for a fold at each stitch, 6 for a fold every 6 stitches, and 12 for a fold every 12 stitches.
  Set it to 0 so as not to crease; In the latter case, the pleating foot is disengaged and sewn normally in straight stitch.
  
  
• The adjustment screw (I) adjusts the pleating feet.
  Do some testing on scraps of fabric of the same type as the one that needs to be curled.
  Turn the screw to the right to insert more fabric into the pleat foot and to the left to reduce the amount of fabric inside the fold.
  
  
• Set the length to 2.5 - 3. Make a few folds with other lengths, as the length of the stitch also affects the amount of fabric that is inserted into the fold.
  The shorter the stitch, the smaller the distance between the folds. The width should always be 0 for the straight stitch.

Execution:

• Place the fabric that needs to be gathered into the grooves of the guide (G), then between the two black plinth blades (E and F) behind the needle tip.
  
  
• Lower the presser foot and sew at a steady medium speed.
  
  
• To create pleats and dots on flat fabric in a single operation:
  
  1. Place the fabric flat right side under the pleating foot.
  
  2. Place the fabric that is to be pleated right side down into the groove and between the guide blades as in step 1 above.
  
  3. Sew. The flat fabric is moved by the teeth of the feed dogs while the top fabric is pleated and attached to it.
