Foot for double 6 mm cord

The 6 mm double drawstring foot is used for trimming, covering raw edges instead of applying ribbons or trimmings to your upholstery and home decoration projects, or as a decoration for cushions, cushion covers and other interior accessories. If the color you want isn't available, you can create it yourself.

• Buy 6 mm cotton cord that is at least twice as long as the final length of the strip to be wrapped.
• Cut a strip of ribbon wide enough to cover two cords and the sewing allowance.
• Apply the double-hemmed drawstring foot. Select the straight stitch with the needle in the center, length 3.0. Place the cords side by side on the wrong side of the fabric strip and wrap the fabric around the cords.

Place the fabric and cords under the drawstring foot with the raw edges of the fabric on the right side. Place the right drawstring into the left groove on the underside of the presser foot. Keep the cords snug at the edge when sewing.

• Wrap the excess fabric at the straight point of the underside between the drawstrings through all layers. Cut off the excess fabric on the wrong side, near the seam.
• To sew the double-hemmed cord strip to the fabric, place it on the work and sew straight onto the stitch row in stitch 4.
• For upholstery edges, use small finishing stitches or paper clips to attach the double drawstring to cover the raw edges.
