Husqvarna Viking 413320245 Free-motion quilting foot

The free-motion quilting foot is designed to give you more control over your free-motion quilting. The wide base ensures a good surface area in contact with the fabric and provides greater seam control. The transparent base allows 360° visibility. Vertical, horizontal and circular markings on the presser foot make it easy to follow a continuous quilt pattern or design on the fabric. Sew straight lines or follow patterns with rounded edges in any direction.

• Fully loosen the screw of the foot attachment and remove the attachment. Insert the free-motion quilting foot into the presser foot bar and secure it with the screw.
• Put the machine in.
• Select a straight stitch.
• Set the Husqvarna Viking sewing machine to free-motion mode. The jaws are lowered automatically.

Note: When the feed dogs are lowered, the machine no longer transports the fabric, you have to move the fabric yourself.

• Bring the bobbin thread upwards making a stitch. Grab both threads and sew a few stitches in place to start.
• Maintain an even speed and move the fabric in a smooth motion. By moving the fabric you adjust the length of the stitches.
• Sew around the quilt, appliqué, or pattern pattern onto the fabric, keeping an even distance to draw the shape.
• Sew a second row, keeping an even distance from the first row. Use the red markings on the presser foot as a guide to keep the space even.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to create the desired effect.

Note: When sewing in free-motion mode, at low speed the presser foot raises and lowers at each stitch to hold the fabric on the seam plate during stitch formation. At a higher speed, the presser foot remains suspended on the fabric while you sew.
