J foot for overdrawing

The J foot is used for stitches that are made on the side of the fabric and that would otherwise curl or wrinkle the fabric.
The tab on the edge of the presser foot prevents the edge of the fabric from bunching up.

The Infodisplay Husqvarna Viking recommends the use of the J foot for many stitches to be made on the edges of the fabric.

1. Apply the J foot to overboard.
2. Select an overlock or edge stitch and turn the handwheel ring by hand to check that the needle does not hit the presser foot. Adjust the stitch width as needed.
3. Sew.
