Pfaff 820918096 Thin cord foot

The Thin Cord Foot is used to carry out projects to decorate your home, fashion projects or anywhere you want to add a special touch! It is used to cover the cords of 1 mm of fabric for special processing and insert the processing into joints or edges.
The narrow creasing foot is used to perform finishes for furniture, fashion creations or for any occasion when you want to add a finishing touch! It allows you to cover 1 mm cords with fabric to make special cords and then you can fix them at the seams or on the edges for a professional effect.
It can also be used with pre-made cords. The excellent visibility allows you to see where you place the drawstring and know exactly where you are sewing.
To secure the drawstring in a seam:
- Fit the thin cord foot.
- Place the cord with the unfinished edges along the seam, on the right side of the fabric. Place the second fabric on top, right sides facing.
- Place fabric and layers of cord under the creasing foot, with the cord in the groove below the presser foot.
- Select a straight stitch, 2.5 long. Sew. The groove on the underside of the presser foot guides the cord as you sew.
To make a cord out of fabric:
- Fit the thin cord foot.
- Cut strips of fabric on the bias or in the weave direction wide enough to cover the drawstring and leave seam allowances.
- Place the drawstring on the wrong side of the fabric strip and then wrap the fabric over it.
- Place fabric and drawstring under the foot for thin drawstring, with the drawstring in the groove below the foot.
- Sew with a straight stitch, 2.5 mm long. The groove guides the drawstring to cover it evenly with the fabric.
- Use the new cord following the instructions above.
TIP: When attaching the cord, adjust the position of the needle so that the seam is a little closer to the cord, so that the first seam (i.e., the one made by creating the cord) is hidden.
