Making a border with a bias tape is a very simple method to give the edges of a fabric a clean and regular look. You must have a 24mm wide bias cut tape.
Bias Tape Foot
Making a border with a bias tape is a very simple method to give the edges of a fabric a clean and regular look. You must have a 24mm wide bias cut tape.
Utilization:
- Remove the presser foot and the presser foot holder. Insert the bias presser foot.
- Cut the beginning of the bias tape diagonally.
- Insert the tape into the spiral guide of the foot and pull it from behind.
- Arrange the fabric and/or needle position so that the needle enters the fabric about 1 – 1.5 cm from the folded edge of the bias tape.
- Sew about 2.5 cm along the bias tape.
- Insert the edge of the fabric that is to be edged with bias tape between the margins of the bias tape into the slot of the bias foot. The bias tape will automatically include the raw allowance when sewing.
Tip: You can achieve decorative effects with the zigzag stitch or other types of stitches.
