The free-motion/darning sewing foot is perfect for free-motion embroidery or darning.
The free-motion/darning sewing foot is perfect for free-motion embroidery or darning.
- The needle should be raised as far as possible.
- Insert the darning foot: with your thumb and forefinger, grasp the front and back of the foot. Insert the darning foot pin all the way into the hole behind the presser foot holder.
- The "C" shaped guide should be located around the foot bar. The long arm should be behind the needle clamp. Tighten the screw.
- Lower the feed dogs.
- If you want, you can hoop the fabric in a round embroidery hoop.
- Select a straight stitch and activate the freehand function, or put the presser foot in the darning/freehand position.
- Pull the bobbin thread up and sew a few stitches to secure it. Cut the threads close to the work and continue sewing.
Tip: Remember that when sewing with feed dogs down, you determine the stitch length. A medium to fast speed will allow you to sew with a regular length for straight stitch. Sewing too slowly will cause small knots on the wrong side of the fabric.
