Pfaff 821141096 Free-motion open-tip foot with spring

The Open Foot Freeform is great for quilting and free-motion sewing. The presser foot has a front opening for optimal visibility when sewing. The action of the spring prevents the fabric from lifting along with the needle during stitch formation. The fabric is manually guided when sewing or free-motion quilting.

• Disengage the IDT system
• Fully loosen the screw of the foot attachment and remove the attachment.
• Insert the free-hand open foot into the foot bar and secure it with the screw included in the package.
• Make sure that the metal arm on the presser foot is placed on top of the needle lock.

Tip: Lower the needle slightly to make it easier to position the guide on the presser foot in the correct position on the needle lock.

• Thread the machine.
• Select a straight or zigzag stitch with a maximum width of 5.0.
• Set the sewing machine PFAFF® to dynamic spring presser foot/free-motion position. On some machines, the jaws are lowered automatically. Other machines require manual lowering of the jaws. (Refer to your manual.)
  
  Note: When the feed dogs are lowered, the machine no longer carries the fabric. You need to move the fabric manually.
  
  
• Maintain a constant speed and move the fabric in a smooth motion. The length of the stitches is made by moving the fabric.

You can use the red markings on the presser foot as a guide for quilting or following a design.
